A perfect Fremantle afternoon starts with sunshine, good coffee, and a wander down High Street — and that’s exactly the feeling we wanted to capture in our latest lifestyle video featuring Grace Chen. Created in collaboration with Detail Marketing & Communications, this project was proudly supported by the 2026 City of Fremantle Small Business Grants Program.
The result is a warm, authentic snapshot of what it feels like to shop local in Freo — and to discover the work of more than 170 Western Australian artisans under one roof.
Why We Created This Video
At The Artisan Store Fremantle, our mission has always been simple: to champion Western Australian makers and connect their work with people who value handmade craft.
When the City of Fremantle opened applications for the 2026 Small Business Grants Program, we saw an opportunity to tell a story that reflects our community — a story about creativity, connection, and the joy of discovering something meaningful.
We wanted viewers to experience the store through the eyes of a real Fremantle local. Grace Chen, known for her thoughtful lifestyle content and love of WA creatives, was the perfect person to bring that experience to life.
Partnering with Detail Marketing & Communications
To bring this vision into focus, we partnered with Detail Marketing & Communication, a Fremantle‑based agency with a strong track record in storytelling and local brand development.
Their team helped shape the storyboard, refine the messaging, and capture the textures, colours, and atmosphere that make our store unique. From the first coffee shot to the final stroll down High Street, Detail created a visual narrative that feels unmistakably Freo.

A Look at the Filming Day
Starting at Breaks Café
The video opens with Grace grabbing a coffee at Breaks Café — a familiar ritual for many Fremantle locals. It sets the tone for a relaxed, sun‑soaked afternoon.
Wandering High Street
High Street is full of independent retailers, creatives, and cafés. Grace’s walk captures the charm of the neighbourhood and the importance of supporting small WA businesses.
Stepping Inside The Artisan Store
Once Grace enters the store, the video shifts into colour and detail — close‑ups of jewellery, ceramics, textiles, prints, and handmade gifts. Every frame highlights the craftsmanship of WA makers.
Connecting With the Makers
Grace reads artist cards, picks up pieces, and shares her thoughts. These moments show what makes our store special: every item has a story, and every maker has a voice.
Choosing a Favourite Piece
Grace shares one of her recent finds and why it resonated with her — a reminder that handmade pieces often carry personal meaning.
Gift Wrapping the Artisan Way
Our signature branded tissue and bag make an appearance as Grace prepares her purchase. It’s a small detail, but one that reflects the care behind every gift.
A Freo Afternoon, Wrapped Up
The video closes with Grace strolling down High Street, Artisan Store bag in hand — a perfect Fremantle moment.
The Heart of the Story
The final text overlay says:
