FREMANTLE artist Emily Hornum has been shortlisted for the Fremantle Art Centre Print Award.
With $22,000 in prize money, it’s Australia’s richest and most prestigious print award, and showcases the best i n the country.
Disposable
Hornum’s father, a keen photographer, died when she was a child and her work investigates ideas around family archives, memory and today’s disposable digital photographs.
“It’s an exploration of narrative and context, memory and stories and what’s left behind,” the FAC artist in residence tells the Herald.
The diptych features a reproduction of an original photo by her father, and the same photo digitally reconfigured. The winners of the annual print awards w i l l be announced next Thursday, September
