The team at the Artisan store send our Congratulations to Julie Kenny .
She has managed to get herself in the top 20 category of not one, but two photography awards.
The selection comes from “Australasia’s top emerging photography awards”
Her outstanding works have propelled her into the top 20 in the Art category for Salt Lake Simplicity and the top 30 in the art category for Denmark inlet (featured).Julie also was commended for her work in the landscape category for shifting sands.
During the 2020 Xmas break Julie enjoyed some time down south visiting with family in Denmark. She felt his was the perfect opportunity to experiment and test out her drone. She explained that although this was new to her, I discovered absolutely love it.
I find the patterns, colour and textures that occur naturally in our environment incredibly beautiful.
While exploring the surrounds of Denmark I luckily stumbled across the contrasting tones of black and white patterns in the sand.
The contrast of the sands also complimented the aqua tones of waterfall bay. Journeying inland, I was captivated by the textures of Cranbrook’s salt lakes.
As someone who prefers symmetry, I enjoyed the challenge of experimenting with abstract compositions. The aerial view of Wilson Inlet provided a beautiful picture of the ebb and flow of the water’s movement.
For the 2021 competition, the judging panel comprised of 37 leading professionals and industry experts from Australia and around the globe.
The judges were looking for portfolios that worked together cohesively as a series.
Australasia’s Top Emerging Photographers encourages and promotes talented photographers in the early stages of their careers, along with aspiring photographers.
Now in its 13th year, it has boasted a 60% increase in entries over the last two years
A big Congratulations from us. We look forward to seeing your new drone works in store
