Pilbara Textile by Juliet Dixon.
I was inspired to create this textile art after sorting through the many bits and pieces of fabric, ribbons and braid that I have collected over a period of time.
Having worked for many years in the mining industry, the colours I selected created the image of the Pilbara landscape in my mind. The piece of silk which has been machine stitched, as well as hand embroidered, was dyed using onion skins and then heat set.
A colourful piece of art to display by standing on a shelf or hanging on a wall.
Frame size approximately 25cm x 33cm.
