Small fragments of vegetation become encased in crystalline salt, appearing suspended within a textured white surface. Captured on the edge of the salt mine in Karratha, this image explores themes of preservation, fragility and transformation. Images are printed on archival fine art heavy weight paper stock.
I choose to have my images printed on archival Fine Art Smooth Pearl 270 GSM paper. I really like the heavier weight paper. When you look at the surface of this stock it is slightly textured, a little finer than water colour paper. Being ‘pearl’ paper in the right light and angle you can see its slight shimmer. This is not always visible once it is in a frame.
