Bird in a Tree Original Painting

Bird in a Tree Original Painting by Cathy Schult.

Acrylic and oils on primed linen.

Dimensions: approx. 76 cm × 102 cm × 3.5 cm.

The painting is inspired by the quiet that followed Cathy’s daughter’s departure for twelve months abroad.  Bird in a Tree explores the need to find stillness while life continues to move around us.

At the centre of the painting, a honeyeater sits calmly, choosing where to direct its gaze as the world carries on around it. The work reflects a season of slowing down, being present and finding a sense of calm within the busyness of everyday life.
