Broome Pearl Pendant by Colleen Brennan
Broome pearl pendant: 9ct yellow gold simple oval bale featuring an Australian South Sea pearl, large drop shape and white in colour. The surface is slightly ringed with very good lustre.
This pearl is cultured, containing a small round nucleus, farmed in the pristine and fertile sea water off the Broome coast. Australian South Sea pearls fetch a high price because there is a strict quota on production to keep the natural species Pinctada maxima protected. Also it takes a minimum of two years to produce a pearl, and many hours of laborious manual work to keep the farmed pearl oysters healthy.
A magnificent pendant for every day wear, it will team nicely with a long gold belcher chain.
