Sue Churack’s artistic journey is a harmonious blend of evolution, curiosity, and bold innovation across multiple creative disciplines. Beginning her career as a hairdresser, Sue cultivated an intuitive understanding of texture, colour, and form—sensibilities that later became the cornerstone of her visual art practice.
Drawing inspiration from the fluidity and tactile nature of her salon work, she infuses her paintings with a sense of movement and dimensionality. Each brushstroke echoes the sculptural gestures once applied to hair, creating a distinctive visual language that bridges her past profession with her ever-expanding artistic vision.

Eclectic by nature and driven by a love of challenge, Sue continually seeks new ways to grow and experiment. In 2025, she transformed her painted works into bespoke textiles, evolving them into homewares and relaxed, wearable garments—another step in her ongoing pursuit of creative exploration (and perhaps a prelude to planning her next holiday).
