The Brilliant optical properties of dichroic glass are a result of ultra thin layers of different metals applied to the surface of glass in a vacuum chamber. This process was originally developed by NASA for use in satellite mirrors. The glass is then fused in multiple firings at very high temperatures. Certain wave lengths of light either pass through or are reflected causing an array of colour to be visible. When viewed in different light and at varying angles, the colours dance, reflect & sparkle.
