Born on Sakhalin Island, lived in Europe and now a Perth based artist.
Moving continents and travelling to many places throughout the world inevitably influenced her exposure to diverse art and cultures.
In the beginning Olena painted how she was taught, in a realistic and impressionistic way. But bit by bit the landscapes lost their horizons and their structure of creating space, more and more of her work became expressionistic and abstract.
Her paintings, are a mirror of her journeys and imaginations. Journeys across countries, continents and cultures, looking for diversity and new impressions, searching for inner balance and new challenges.
