A Little Hare Button by Ned Huffadine
My name is Ned, I have just turned 10, I am a young artist and entrepreneur, I love to make small hair buttons. I am at primary school in the local area. My interests are art, making Lego creations, gaming and listening to music. At the moment I play guitar, drums and soon the double base. I have two adult sisters who are into fashion, they influence my clothing choices. I like animals and have lots of pets.
My idea for making hair buttons came from some of my sister’s old hair buttons we still have. My mum helped me order the parts and buy the materials. For my birthday mum and dad had the cards printed for me. I was also given some fabric by a teacher. The name A Little Hare Button is fun because hair and hare sound the same but are different things. And hares are cute.
My first experience of selling my hair buttons was in my front yard when there was a festival at the bottom of my street. I sold most of my buttons. One of my first customers was a Freo Dockers player, he liked my hair buttons and said I was doing a good job. I am pretty happy with that compliment.
