Hi! I am Karen Roberts and I am a mixed media artist inspired by the natural environment surrounding my home in the Perth Hills, Western Australia.
I create layered compositions that combine drawing, painting, printmaking, and collage, and enjoy incorporating found images. I love the interplay and impact of colour and pattern, and the way each medium can bring something different to an image. My process is one of assembling and transforming — bringing together what I’ve collected, then adding further layers until something new emerges.
Alongside original artworks and hand-painted plates, I create a range of greeting cards, tea towels, and mirrors. I also offer book cover illustration and welcome commissions and collaborations — I love working with others to bring creative ideas to life.
