Hello, my name is Larissa Izakovic. I am a West Australian born artist currently residing in Busselton in the South West. At the moment I work predominately with stained glass, polymer clay and recycled crockery. I draw a lot of my inspiration from the natural world. I am a qualified Horticulturist and self confessed plant nerd. I am particularly fond of our native West Australian flora. Lately I have enjoyed creating intricate native flora inspired polymer clay jewellery. I also love colour. I get so much joy and satisfaction in creating works full of colour and vibrancy.
For as long as I can remember I have been creative. It is a part of who I am. As a child one of my favourite things to do was to make those plastic ‘leadlight’ suncatchers. The ones where you put the little plastic beads into sections of a mould and then put it into the oven. Our kitchen window was full of them. It recently occurred to me that I am now as an adult doing exactly that which brought me so much joy as a child. I currently spend the majority of my time creating stained glass windows, suncatchers and jewellery. If you enjoy my work please follow me on instagram @wildskyart.
