A multi-award winning artist, Irene Osborne’s diverse subjects and techniques range from colourful abstracts to traditional representational landscapes.
Irene feels a spiritual connection to the earth, and nature, and gains inspiration from the unique Australian environment. From drawing on the back of jam tin labels as a child while growing up in rural southern WA, creating art using her surroundings is Irene’s passion. Immersing herself in the landscape with quick plein air studies or sketches done on location, particularly in the early morning light, assists her to achieve a strong sense of place, often found in her paintings.
She offers linked themes in her portfolio, sometimes include man’s impact on the environment, local history, portraits and mining related subjects.
Gaining a diploma in Fine Arts at Claremont (WA) in the seventies, Irene has over 40 years of arts practice behind her. She has also created a network of public art, murals and sculptures in dozens of towns across Western Australia.
Irene Osborne’s paintings are in numerous private and corporate collections throughout Australia and internationally.
