My preliminary training in silversmithing was undertaken many years ago in Germany but my work life took over and it wasn’t until the late 1980s that I returned to handcrafting items from Sterling Silver. Since then, my work has been displayed and sold at Boranup Gallery and Gunyulgup Gallery in the Margaret River area and Lamont’s Gallery and Sittella Winery in the Swan Valley. My preference is to create cake forks, a variety of spoons and ladles, paté knives, cheese knives, cake slices and even Christening spoons that can be held and their form admired. I also enjoy making jewellery items such as pendants, bangles and earrings that give delight to their wearers. Working with sterling silver is a challenge as is working with any metal. Sterling silver is a precious metal and although the price will fluctuate daily as does that of gold and platinum, it maintains its value throughout the quality of the piece which will last a lifetime and beyond. The Sterling Silver Hallmark is STG 925.
