Elisha McGuckin
South West artist Elisha McGuckin has seen successes that she would never dare imagine. As a nervous student in her 20s she studied art at the Fremantle Art Centre before years later deciding it was indeed time to pursue her true passion. Now a mother of 2 she is a full-time artist working from her home studio she is living out her dream.
The granddaughter of a sign writer and daughter of a technical drawer, Elisha is fascinated with lettering and mastering smooth brushstrokes. Renowned for her vibrant colour palette influenced by pop art and expressive brushstrokes a nod to impressionism, Elisha’s style is truly unique. Working from life, her acrylic paintings of iconic everyday subjects are both expressive but well refined, studying her objects as they sit before her embracing all the imperfections along the way.
Cementing her title as an artist, McGuckin has now successfully hosted 4 solo exhibitions, participated in group shows and collaborated with city councils, shires and iconic brands. She has focussed primarily on creating one extensive collection after another going from strength to strength, further developing not just her concepts and skills but her own signature style.
With collectors both Australia wide and internationally, she continues to challenge the perception of a still life bringing a unique pop art twist to her work.
