My family and I have been sourcing, fossicking and collecting gemstones, fossils, minerals and crystals for about 30+ years. We all try to get away and head North or East travelling for hours during the school holidays or cooler months to collect at least 2.5 – 5 tonne of rough rock to bring back home ready to slab, grind, polish, tumble and then sell to gemstone collectors all over the world and to the public.
We deal with such stones, such as Chrysoprase, Prase, Magnesite, Prehnite, Black Jade, Red Jasper, Snakeskin Jasper, Petrified Wood, Petrified Peanut Wood, Fossilised Wasp Nests, Chrysocolla and Malachite, Picture Jasper, Noreena Jasper, Crazy Lace Agate, Lepidolite, Moss Agate, Tigers Eye, Tiger Iron, Desert Sunset Jasper and Wyloo/Mt Phillips Amethyst.
When it comes to creating designer jewellery, we sort through our tumbled polished gemstones and choose the ones with unique shapes, colours, patterns and inclusions. We have diamond saws from 10″ to 36″, we have 5 lap tables for grinding and polishing and have about 6 tumblers for grinding and polishing as well as a sphere making machine.
