About Philippa Hunt

Philippa began her training in Rochester, England at the Kent Institute of Art and Design where she completed a National Diploma followed by a Higher National Diploma in Jewellery.
On returning to Australia she entered the third year of a Jewellery apprenticeship at Solid Gold Jewellers and completed her apprenticeship with Wensley’s Jewellers in Fremantle. She went on to work at Sinclairs Jewellers for a number of years before leaving to start her family.
She has worked for herself ever since, doing bespoke pieces, repairs, alterations and wholesale trade work. Out of this has come a need to enjoy the creativity that being a jeweller offers.

About Karen Hancock

Karen’s experience in the trade dates back to 1981. She comes from a family of 4th generation English Jewellers and Watchmakers from the 1890s.
Her family emigrated to Australia in 1950 where her Father owned jewellery shops in exclusive Perth suburbs of Applecross and Cottesloe. In 1981 as a teenager Karen commenced working at her Father’s Cottesloe shop where she learnt the traditional style of restringing which she still does today, adding new techniques along the way. She has long-standing relationships with some of the finest jewellery shops in WA.

Tumbled Shell set with Amethyst Pendant

Tumbled shell cast in sterling silver that can be worn both ways. Front shows the inner spirals of a long worn away shell accented with a cabochon Amethyst. The reverse is smooth and subtle hiding what lies behind.

1940’s Button Female Diver Pendant

Pendant cast in sterling silver depicting female diver who’s influence came from a 1940’s button owned by Karen’s ancestry.

Pendant cast in sterling silver inspired by the beautiful Nautilus shell that can be worn both ways. One side relying on the textures and polish of silver the other accented by a blue Sapphire.
